Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Physical Therapist Assistant Diploma (PTA)


Experience: Experience an asset


Languages: Speak French, Read French, Write French


Work Setting: Home for the aged, Nursing home


Therapy Assistant Specific Skills: Provide support services to health care professionals, Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies


Physiotherapy Assistant Specific Skills: Accompany patients to treatment rooms, Assist patients with maintenance programs as directed/supervised by physiotherapist, Lead group exercise or activity class, Assist patients in the use of therapeutic equipment as directed/supervised by physiotherapist, Clean physiotherapy equipment


Additional Skills: Maintain records and inventories of supplies, Clean and maintain equipment


Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning
