Health Care Job New Edinburgh Square Retirement Residence in Ottawa

Title: New Edinburgh Square Retirement Residence Registered practical nurse (ON) (or Student nurse.)  

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Part Time, Shift, Weekend, Day, Evening

Salary: $16.09 to $18.33 Hourly for 25 hours per week, Other Benefits, Medical Benefits, Dental Benefits, As per collective agreement

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Ottawa East, Ontario (1 vacancy) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Licensure by the appropriate province or territory of work, Basic cardiac life support (BCLS), First Aid Certificate


Experience: Will train


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Home for the aged


Area of Specialization: Geriatrics


Registered Nursing Assistant Specific Skills: Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Distribute medication to patients, Change patients' dressings, Assist registered nurses with various medical procedures


Additional Skills: Monitor patients' progress and report any changes


Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking


Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation


Essential Skills: Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Continuous learning
