Title: Rideau Gardens Registered practical nurse (ON)  

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, On Call, Shift, Weekend, Day, Evening

Salary: $18.22 Hourly for 40 hours per week, Group Insurance Benefits, As per collective agreement

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Ottawa Centre, Ontario (1 vacancy) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Licensure by the appropriate province or territory of work, Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination, Basic cardiac life support (BCLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate


Experience: Experience an asset


Languages: Speak English, Speak French, Read English, Read French, Write English


Work Setting: Home for the aged


Area of Specialization: Geriatrics


Registered Nursing Assistant Specific Skills: Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Distribute medication to patients, Change patients' dressings


Additional Skills: Monitor patients' progress and report any changes


Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking


Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory
